Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour – Course overview
Our fantastic Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour course ensures a full day packed full of fun and adventure. Jump on board and let’s explore the following key sites on our tour.
Nami Island – stroll around a fairy tale land

Namiseom (Nami Island) is a curious place. The island is shaped like a half-moon. The formation was triggered by the building of the Cheongpyeong Dam thanks to the North Han River. The name comes from General Nami. He was the hero who helped Korea win against the rebels in the 13th year of King Sejo – the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty. The natural beauty here was preserved by making sure that there aren’t any telephone polls visible – all electric wires are deep underground.

Nami Island is located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. What’s remarkable about this place is that up until 1965, the island was a wasteland and was later cleaned and shaped into the fairytale land it is today. Many travelers take our tour just to see the filming locations for the popular K-Drama “Winter Sonata”. This is where the protagonists had their first kiss!
Don’t miss the chance to follow into the drama’s literal footsteps and experience the magic of the island with our Nami Island tours! Nami Island is loved by travelers because of all the seasonal events that go on here, the numerous sites and many cafes where you can sit down, relax and enjoy each other’s company.

There are some many different things to see and do here! Stroll down the Ginko Tree Lane, famous for the beautiful golden colors of the trees. Try the pan-fried rice cake which is a real treat for those who love crispy and crunchy! Take beautiful photos along Metasequoia Road with the stunning redwood trees. Grab a bicycle and go for a spin around the beautiful scenery. When the weather is warm, you can enjoy the water garden swimming pool to freshen up. This is a lovely option both for adults and kids.
Garden of Morning Calm – witness the extraordinary colours of the season and feel Korea’s Spirit
Our Garden of Morning Calm tour drops you straight in the middle of stunning Korean horticulture nestled within a backdrop of Chungryeongsan Mountain.

The Garden of Morning Calm is the oldest private garden in South Korea, opened way back on May 11th, 1996, by horticultural professor Sang-kyung Han.
Since then, the garden has been an in-demand filming location for movies, including The Letter (1997), dramas like the popular Love in the Moonlight (2016) and even the famous Korean variety show Infinite Challenge. So as you stroll along the scenic paths, you’ll find yourself on the set of some of Korea’s popular on-screen productions.
The founder’s vision for the Garden of Morning Calm was to create an artistic space that captured Korea’s unique beauty and spirit. He achieved this by creating 20 different themed sections comprising 5,000 plants, of which 300 are native varieties of Baekdu Mountain (known for being a spiritual mountain to Koreans).

This arboretum located to the East of Seoul offers many special seasonal events and exhibitions. Still, its most popular attractions include The Sunken Garden, the Cloud Bridge, J’s Cottage Garden, the Pond Garden, the Moonlight Garden, the Road to Heaven, the Millennium Juniper and the Morning Plaza.
So breathe in the fresh air and marvel at the exquisite natural colours in a beautiful part of Korea during our Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour.

Dear, Rupert Singh
I am great to hear that you had a good tour with us.
In winter season, it is so cold. But in snow season, the view of Nami Island is beautiful.
Perfect place with snow.
I will let Mr Chance know you had a memorable time with him.
Hope you have chance to join the tour next time again.

Our guide Nancy was great! Gave us all the tips on what to see on the way to the island and then gave us directions to all the places we wanted to see. She even helped us get some great family photos. Kids loved it especially the sky bike. Can’t really go wrong whichever direction you go as its all incredibly beautiful. Petite France was interesting. Not what you would imagine. I would imagine it would be quite lovely at Christmas.

Both places were very pretty. The colors were absolutely unbelievable with lots of yellow and reds. Got some really stunning photos and the lunch was so yummy. We forgot to ask make the meal more mild, but it wasn’t very spicy anyway. Definetly going to find another dak galbi place in Seoul before we fly on Friday.
